Forward Weave
Part I

What you need to do :

Part 1

To get this move right, invest time and effort on perfecting the move with each hand.  Lets begin with the master hand. There are 3 different motions for this move that are repetitive. Above-across, under-across and back across in this particular sequence.

First up, stretch out your non-master hand. You need to spin the poi, above this stretched arm in the forward motion and as it is completing the circle with the poi coming back up, move to below the stretched hand to make another circle there and when you have completed that move, cross back to complete one forward rotation there before repeating the whole sequence.

Remember that this is a repeated 3-beat motion; hence people referring to the forward weave as also the 3-beat weave. Practice until you can do this motion without effort or thinking deep into how you do it. Practice until this is as second nature to you. The hard part is getting your non-master hand to do the exact same thing. Enjoy! ;-)

Part 2

Once you have mastered the 3-beats with both hands, it is time to integrate the moves into the full version. At this juncture, I would suggest you have one poi in full string and the other hand without the poi so that you get the action right without the interference of tangling poi, as shown in the second video.

If you notice the video, like the figure-8 integration, start off with your master hand and then start off with the other hand in a manner that resembles the second hand chasing the first. The start off is similar to the figure 8 move but make a very conscious effort to complete the 3-beats (above, under, back) for both hands. It should come naturally with minor stumbles if you have been practicing conscientiously with each hand as the body has been tuned to go back to doing the 3 beat.

Once you have mastered doing it with both hands but one poi, make sure you practice vice-versa as well. By now you should be ready to try it out with both poi. At this point, I have nothing more to add, it should start coming to you naturally. Dun worry too much about stumbles, tangles or hits. It happens! Keep practicing and you will definitely be able to master this move. Cheers mate! :-)
